Victory Velo Racing Ends Its First Year With a Grand Total of 73 Wins!

Victory Velo Racing wraps up the 2012 season with an astonishing 73 victories, as well as 40 2nd-place and 34 3rd-place finishes in road, mountain, and handcycle events. But it's not all about winning. Some of us sacrificed our own success to support a teammate. All of our athletes deserve a huge round of applause for putting themselves out there and giving it their best shot.

Highlights include a Cross Country National Championship for one of our juniors, Avery Morin. She went on to be selected for the 2013 Bear Development Team. And our handcyclist extraordinaire, Thea Rosa, was awarded National Championship gold medals in the Time Trial and Road Race and went on to win US Handcycling's #1 ranking for 2012 in her category.

To benefit the community, Victory Velo Racing promoted two successful events. First, we put on the inaugural Loomis Basin Sierra de Montserrat Circuit Race. Over 200 entries were received, a fine showing for the first year of a new race, especially considering that two other races were scheduled that same day in our district. For this first-class event, we received nothing but rave reviews from competitors and spectators alike on the venue, the organization, and support. In addition, a portion of the proceeds was donated to the Loomis Basin Charter School.

Second, we organized the Tour of Placer to benefit the Andrew Carducci Fund. Andrew is a young man in our community who was seriously injured in an automobile accident. Proceeds went to help defray the family's medical expenses.

Thank you to our generous sponsors – we couldn't have done it without your support! Plus we would like to express our gratitude to the friends of Victory Velo Racing – those non-racing members of the Victory Velo family who selflessly assisted with our team's achievements. We look forward to the 2013 season and all its possibilities.
